Ferry Delays and a Tight Jobsite Near St. George
After that brutal winter of '03, we got a call from a crew working near St. George when the ferries were delayed for days and the whole island felt stuck in the cold. The wind had a knife to it, and the ground around the site stayed hard as concrete. They needed portable restrooms set before the morning shift, because the trades were already showing up and the job couldn’t wait on weather or transit problems. Stakes were high: if we missed the window, the site would lose a full day.
We loaded a clean unit, checked straps, and rolled in with our crew the moment the roads opened up enough to move safely. I remember using gloves stiff from the cold while we set the box level and made sure the door faced away from the worst of the wind. We kept the delivery tight, gave the foreman a straight answer, and got out of the way so work could start. That site stayed moving, and the crew had what they needed without adding another headache.
Tony got it there when the weather was still ugly, and our crew didn’t lose the day.
